ABOUT SCOPE

 

Skills & Coaching for Positive Employment is a 4 weeks program that assists internationally trained professionals to find and keep jobs. 

 

Our Program focuses on developing effective job search techniques while also building solid business communications, presentation and networking skills.

 

 

 

WHY JOIN?

 

Are you are a newcomer to Canada? Have you been unable to find a job of your choice? We can help. Our program is designed to evaluate the gaps in your job hunting skills / strategy and by addressing these gaps; we can help you make your job search more fruitful.

 WHAT WE DO

 

 

 

Mentors in Motion is committed towards helping newcomers to Canada in learning job hunting skills and techniques required for gaining positive employment. During our 4 week SCOPE program, we will help you:  

 

 

  • Develop an action plan for job searching
  • Gain understanding of Canadian culture, employer expectations and workplace practices
  • Learn skills for networking, communicating and interviewing
  • Prepare a powerful resume
  • Learn to better manage your financial situation while you look for a job
  • Access the Hidden Job market

Who is eligible to join this program?

 

 

 

To join the SCOPE program, a person must be: 

 

 

  •         Over 21 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada

  •         A Landed Immigrant (Permanent Resident) or Convention Refugee.

  •         Must be in Canada for less than 3 years.

  •         Must have post secondary education. 

 

 

 

Is there a Fee for this program?

 

Services provided by Mentors in Motion are on volunteer basis and Free

  to the mentees.

 

 

 

Is a job guaranteed if I complete this program?

 

No. We can teach you the skills to make your job search more fruitful but the ultimate result will always depend on you.

 

 

 

How are you different from other similar programs conducting by HRDC?

 

Unlike HRDC, we are a volunteer group comprised of Immigrants who can fully empathize with our mentees. Our focus is on job search skills only and we do not offer any settlement services. This focus helps us to maintain the quality of our program.
